1952 – at the end of the year, the Sawicki theatre moved into premises at 3 Piękna Street, the room of the former Pionier Cinema. The necessary repairs were carried out by the theatre group itself. ‘You need a specific sense of humour to call Piękna (‘beautiful’ in Polish – translator’s note) the street where the Świerszcz puppet theatre was located. In fact it distinguished itself with its ugliness, even in the dense net of dirty, narrow streets entangling Sienny Market’ (Ryszard Kraśko);

1974 - the theatre rents a performance room from the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery in the compound of “flying objects” at 14 Manifestu Lipcowego Street. Until the end of the 1979/80 season, it houses a stage for adults – ‘Rotunda’;

1975 – construction work on the new theatre at 1 Kalinowskiego Street starts; ‘for a year the work is conducted illegally, for the next year – unofficially.’ (‘Gazeta Współczesna’ 14–16 December 1979, No 281);

2004 – opening a new performance room
