History

Despite its deceptive name, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is not located on the main Paris boulevard. Its building is one of the most celebrated examples of theatre architecture in the Art Deco style. Renowned painters such as Maurice Denis (Symbolism, Nabis) and Édouard Vuillard (Nabis) or the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle contributed to its décor. The glazed ceiling is one of the most impressive parts of the building.
