History
The building of the Chinese national theatre, also know as the 'egg', is in the shape of an ellipsoid. This manifests itself due to the artificial lake which surrounds the structure. Through the mirroring in the water the building becomes grander and more imposing. 80 m of underground tunnel with galleries are located in the building. The structure includes an opera hall (2,398 spectators), a concert hall (2,019 spectators) and a theatre (1,035 spectators).
