History

The so-called 'Box Scene' began to be formed in the 18th century. This was created through the employment of windows and doors which could be shifted between two sceneries (the number of attributes on the stage increased at a later point). 'Room Scenes' gradually began to be introduced on large stages. In approximately the middle of the 19th century, the box scene became the basis for staging of interiors.
