History

Classified as a historical monument of national importance, the theatre dates back to 1837 and was completely restored in 2003. The auditorium and its décor, notably the Comédie masks, are in the style of Louis XV and are a rare treasure. This and the Bellinzone theatre are the only Italian-style theatres in Switzerland. In addition, the Heure Bleue boasts wonderful acoustics that so precisely amplify the sounds that one feels surrounded by the music. Guided tours are available on request and can be arranged through the Tourist Office.
