Oldřich Tyl

Fecha de nacimiento: 1884
fecha de fallecimiento: 1939
Profesión principal: arquitecto
Enlaces: Prostor - AD (n/a)

He belongs among the most eminent architects of Functionalism in the 1920s. He was a pioneer of the new constructivist tendencies proceeding from usage of reinforced concrete, steel and glass constructions, which he mastered from the technical point of view. His technically avantgarde buildings had a considerably high art quality resembling classical compositions despite their visual austerity. Two most renowned representative pieces of Czech interwar architecture are his work – the largest Functionalistic building of the Veletržní Palace and Černá růže arcade.
