Historia

The decorations of the Krumlov theatre were painted by Viennese painters Johann Wetschel and Leo Merkel in 1766 and 1767. The large collection contains eleven complete scenes that are composed of wings, borders and backdrops (Temple, Hall, Cabinet, Bourgeoisie's room, Parlour, Forest, Garden, Military camp, Street, Jail, Port, and furthermore variants of Besieged City and Rocks). Together with a large amount of accessories ( trees, houses etc.), it constitutes a collection of more than 250 set pieces.
