In the 1970's the function of the Düsseldorf planetarium was significantly changed. The observatory provided space for watching stars, while after its transformation sound and music could be heard, coming together within this impressive half-circular structure. The auditorium strictly adheres to the proportional layout of the building with a consequent circular shape, thereby maintaining the importance of the stage as the central point.
