história
Giacomo Torreli introduced a system of sliding decorations in the Venice theatre Teatro Novissimo over the course of the years 1641 – 1645. He achieved this through the employment of undercarriages and frames below the level of the stage which the scenes were fastened onto. The scenes would appear or disappear as the wagons would move.
