The building was designated as a theatre from its beginnings in the year 1917. The remodelling from the beginning of the second millennium reflects certain elements of the nearby sea. Columns which 'support' the auditorium evoking a feeling of a person standing with the keel of a boat towering above are located in the foyer. The architects created a complicated path to the auditorium, with the spectator having to find a small entrance on a monolithic facade, having to go through an extended foyer and finally ascend a stairway to the hall.
