Geschichte

A large collection of scenery has been preserved only with minor losses that was painted for the Litomyšl Theatre by Viennese court painter Josef Platzer (1751–1806), a native from Prague and one of the most important stage designers of the end of the 18th century. The unique and important collection in both the artistic and historical sense is composed of two curtains, almost two tens of complete scenes and a large number of accessories.
