A large collection of scenery has been preserved only with minor losses that was painted for the Litomyšl Theatre by Viennese court painter Josef Platzer (1751–1806), a native from Prague and one of the most important stage designers of the end of the 18^th century. The unique and important collection in both the artistic and historical sense is composed of two curtains, almost two tens of complete scenes and a large number of accessories.
