History

The ceiling paintings with bucolic themes, set in richly rocaille frames, are the work of Eduard Veith. The central theme is Allegory of Art and The Spirit of Drama, supplemented with Allegory of Music, Poetry, Prose and Truth. Also Personification of the writer’s art and musical art with a group of figures symbolising Farce and Comedy, Comedy, Operetta and Ballet, Drama and Opera.
