A Czech aristocrat and patriot, who was appointed to the office of the Highest Burgrave and a chairman of the Royal State Council. He was in opposition to centralization, executed by the central government and a supporter of the Czech language. His house in Prague became a centre of social life not only for aristocrats but for scholars as well.
